Friends of the Parkland Walk
Aug 17, 2015
Thank you for signing our petition to challenge the development proposals on the Parkland Walk at 3 Francis Place. The official date for formal objections on the Haringey Planning website is the 18th August. The Friends of the Parkland Walk are putting the finishing touches to a detailed challenge to the proposed Construction Management Plan. This is not the only area where we are making a challenge. In a fortnight's time we will meet heads of the Parks Department to express our, and your, concerns. The Parks department are key to our argument that the protective covenant in the Deeds should be respected and not removed. This is where you really count. This is where we show the council park's officers the number of people who are upset by this proposal, and we will impress on them that you are the people who they should be listening to, not one individual with a plan to develop a house. This section of the Parkland Walk at Highgate is probably the richest area for flora and fauna, with protected bat roosts, a wide variety of wild flowers and a pair of nesting grey wagtails (on the amber protection list) for starters. We would love to take our petition over the 1000 mark. So please share our petition with your friends and neighbours and invite them to join you in expressing your concern for the protection of the Parkland Walk and to oppose up to a year of serious disruption, damage, noise, dust and dirt. Thank you again for your support. We will keep you posted on all developments. The Friends of the Parkland Walk
