Updates from Meeting With Haringey + Comms with Tri-Borough Met

Meeting Haringey council, Met Police + Islington Community safety start March (delayed a month by Haringey) + main thread here from Friends Finsbury Park who have provided focused support for petition and main calls for action on Lighting and CCTV, Zero tolerance drug dealing and improve entrances, esp. station area (petition comments ask for gates to be locked at 11pm as Battersea/Vittoria Park; using income from wireless/film crews parking)

Haringey have been slow to respond to actions from this meeting, but we have assurances they are taking safety of community seriously and last week received update from Councillor Mike Hakata on actions for lighting, CCTV in coming weeks and also looking at costings to lock park 11pm (Battersea Park model) and canine patrols?!

Finsbury Park is Crime Hotspot Inc. park entrances from FP station and Seven Sisters and straddles 3 boroughs, with obvious complications and there is a tri-borough initiative "Op Perch. 
Contact made with all 3 Borough commanders requesting meeting and Raising questions on need for One Met Team to cover park and station area (currently Transport police, Islington and Haringey) and with Crime stats under-reported as Finsbury Park (park) doesn’t exist per se on the systems. Also suggestion tri-borough Love Finsbury Park Marketing campaign to raise community confidence and encourage reporting crimes,

Contact with Local Councillors and met Finsbury park/Islington Asima Shaikh and Gary Heather
(Stroud Green/Haringey local councillors seem less proactive in responding emails requesting to meet on petition ..) 

Initial Discussions improve Entrances around Finsbury Park from FP station and Seven Sisters  and contact made with London community design experts Inc. NLA,
(With focus on support for London School Streets and need for safe/desirable cycling routes for families.)

Please keep raising Finsbury Park safety concerns with your local councillors and MPs, particularly as there are local elections next month,
