Dear animal allies, Thank you for your ongoing support and action for our campaign against CKE Restaurants, the parent company of Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. CKE is refusing to address the animal abuse allowed in its chicken supply chain, thinking that if they hold out long enough we will back down. But they are wrong. We won’t stop fighting for what is right - we know each one of the millions of chickens in their supply chain deserve better! Together, we won’t stop until we achieve a policy victory for these birds! Please take the following actions to make our voices heard loud and clear! 1) Call Ezra Field, the Senior Managing Director for Roark Capital Group, CKE’s major shareholder. Call: (404) 591-3337, please leave a message if no one answers. Say something like: Option #1: As the major shareholder for CKE Restaurants, Roark Capital has the opportunity to instigate major improvements in its chicken supply chain. I hope you'll be a leader for animals by urging CKE to adopt a meaningful chicken welfare policy like the one Focus Brands, Subway, and Burger King have already committed to. Option #2: Why has Roark Capital Group failed to ensure that CKE Restaurants publicly commits to meaningful animal welfare standards? Please do the right thing and demand better from the companies you invest in! Falling behind on animal welfare reform is a bad business decision. 2) Reply to Jeff Jenkins' (CKE’s Chief Marketing Officer) latest Tweet: https://twitter.com/jeffmjenkins Reply to Jeff’s latest Tweet with one of the following comments, or make your own. Option #1: It’s time for CKE, the owner of @Hardees and @Carlsjr, to adopt better food standards. #PioneersOfCruelty pic.twitter.com/41dTjWuh7b Option #2: It’s unacceptable that @Hardees is falling behind on basic animal welfare standards! #Boycott #PioneersOfCruelty https://youtu.be/gpovs04w-6Q Option #3: When is @Carlsjr going to join its competitors and produce a chicken welfare policy? #PioneersOfCruelty https://www.change.org/p/hardee-s-carl-s-jr-demand-better-from-your-chicken-suppliers Option #4: When are @Carlsjr and @Hardees going to respond to this? www.pioneersofcruelty.com Thank you for speaking up for animals! -The Humane League
