This week Star Franchise Association (an organization that represents nearly 1,000 Carl's Jr. franchise restaurants) is having its annual conference in the Seattle, WA area. During Star Franchise leadership’s visit to the Space Needle, volunteers held a demonstration to let them know it’s time for Carl’s Jr. to address the cruelty allowed in its chicken supply chain. Help us amplify their message by taking these quick actions! ***Also, please like and Retweet a recent article that was published in The Daily 49er about our campus campaigns against Carl’s Jr.: https://twitter.com/daily49er/status/908139205431197697 1) Fill out Star Franchise Association's contact form: http://www.starfran.com/contact-us/ Option #1: As representatives of over 1,000 Carl's Jr. restaurants, you have the opportunity to urge the adoption of a chicken welfare policy to improve the lives of millions of birds. Please speak up for animals and demand leadership take action! No animal should suffer the cruelties currently allowed in Carl’s Jr.’s chicken supply chain. https://youtu.be/WmODn0y5B7s Option #2: It’s unacceptable that Car’s Jr. has yet to adopt the same chicken welfare standards that many of its competitors, including Burger King, Subway and Shake Shack have already committed to. Please listen to the thousands of concerned consumers who want this issue addressed, and demand Carl’s Jr.’s leadership produce the same policy. It’s bad business to be falling behind on basic animal welfare standards. https://www.change.org/p/hardee-s-carl-s-jr-demand-better-from-your-chicken-suppliers 2) Call Calina Borja (Star Franchise’s coordinator). Call (866) 655-4900, please leave a message if no one answers. Say something like: Option #1: When will Carl’s Jr. produce a policy to address the serious welfare concerns for chickens in its supply chain? Until this issue is addressed, I will be taking my business to restaurants that take animal welfare seriously and will be urging my friends and family to do the same. Option #2: As a representative for over 1,000 Carl’s Jr. franchises, Star Franchise needs to take responsibility for the animal cruelty currently going unchecked in its chicken supply chain! Please work with Carl’s Jr.’s leadership to produce a meaningful chicken welfare policy. Falling behind on commonsense animal welfare standards is unacceptable! Thank you for speaking up on behalf of chickens! -The Humane League
