Hands Off Veterans’ Benefits – Protect Those Who Served!
The Issue
Hands Off Veterans’ Benefits – Protect Those Who Served!
To: Congress, Elon Musk, and Donald Trump
From: Concerned Citizens, Veterans, and Advocates for Those Who Served
We Demand: No Cuts, No Privatization, No Political Games with Veterans' Benefits
The brave men and women who served this country in uniform earned their benefits through sacrifice, dedication, and service. Their healthcare, disability compensation, pensions, and essential support programs must remain protected and untouched.
Yet in 2025, veterans’ benefits are under direct threat from political, economic, and corporate interests looking to cut costs, privatize essential services, or shift responsibility away from the federal government.
We, the undersigned, demand that veterans’ benefits be safeguarded from harmful policies, political maneuvering, and corporate interference. No one should be allowed to strip veterans of what they have rightfully earned.
The Threats We Oppose
- Cuts to Disability Benefits – Plans to restrict or redefine eligibility could force thousands of veterans to lose access to essential compensation AND/OR shifts to Social Security with an elimination of VA benefits.
- Privatization of VA Services – Proposals to shift veterans' healthcare into private hands threaten the quality and accessibility of care.
- VA Federal Hiring Freezes – The hiring freeze implemented in January 2025 has already led to the cancellation of critical VA medical staff hires, impacting veteran healthcare.
Our Demands
- No reductions in veterans' benefits—full funding for healthcare, disability compensation, pensions, and housing assistance.
- No privatization of VA services—veterans deserve a dedicated system that understands and prioritizes their needs.
- No staffing cuts to VA facilities—fully fund and staff VA hospitals to ensure timely and high-quality care.
- No corporate interference—billionaires and political elites should not dictate or profit from changes to veterans’ earned benefits.
- No elimination of VA benefits when they take social security-Those who served ALSO paid into Social Security. They are not mutually exclusive and are both earned.
Veterans paid their dues as well as their taxes—they should not have to fight again to keep what was promised to them.
We stand together to tell Congress, Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and all decision-makers: Hands Off Veterans' Benefits!
