💙 A Personal Update From This Special Education Mom 💙

In just 2 days, on June 15, the EPISD Board of Trustees will meet to discuss decisions that could impact Special Education services.

I haven't posted an update in a couple of days because I didn't want to overwhelm the incredible people who have already signed, shared, and supported this effort. But as we get closer to this meeting, I would be doing our children a disservice if I didn't ask one more time.

As a mother, I know firsthand that our Special Education students work so hard every single day. Many are learning to communicate, regulate emotions, navigate social situations, overcome sensory challenges, and accomplish goals that others may take for granted. Every victory is hard-earned. Every milestone matters.

These children are not line items on a budget.

They are sons. Daughters. Grandchildren. Classmates. Friends.

They deserve a school system that invests in them, supports them, and believes in their potential.

I know it's the weekend. I know life is busy. But if you have just a few seconds today, please consider signing our petition. One signature may seem small, but together our voices tell a much bigger story—one that says our community stands with Special Education students and the professionals who support them.

To everyone who has already signed: thank you. Truly. Your support has reminded me that kindness still exists, that people still care, and that our children are not standing alone.

No matter what happens on June 15, I want our board members to look out into that room and know that this community showed up for these kids.

Not because they asked us to.

Because they needed us to.
