📢 PETITION UPDATE: THANK YOU FOR STANDING WITH SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS

To everyone who has signed, shared, commented, or reached out in support of this petition—thank you.

Every signature represents someone who believes that students with disabilities deserve access to the evaluations, services, therapies, accommodations, and support they need to succeed. Your support reminds families that they are not alone in this fight.

As our community continues to learn more about the proposed budget reductions, we want to respectfully clarify an important part of our request.

We are not only asking EPISD to protect Special Education from further cuts.

We are also asking district leadership to restore critical Special Education positions that have already been eliminated.

These positions are not just numbers on a budget spreadsheet. They represent evaluations completed, services delivered, accommodations implemented, and students supported. When Special Education positions are lost, the impact is felt directly by children and families who already face unique challenges every day.

Students with disabilities need more support, not less.

We understand that difficult financial decisions must be made, but we respectfully believe that our most vulnerable students should not bear the burden of a budget crisis. Our children did not create this situation, and they should not lose the services and support they depend on because of it.

As the June 15 EPISD Board Meeting approaches, we are asking our community to continue sharing this petition, inviting others to sign, and helping us ensure that the voices of Special Education students and families are heard.

Please continue sharing this petition with friends, family members, educators, therapists, community leaders, and anyone who believes every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, communicate, and succeed.

• Protect Special Education funding and services from further reductions.
