Haringey Council are planning 5 more years of Wireless and other large festivals in our park.
Over 100 people came to a public meeting on Tuesday 25th April at the Muslim Welfare House, Seven Sisters Road to oppose this deal of mega festivals in our park. Haringey Council cabinet members did not attend though our local councillors did. There were good speeches from neighbouring councillors Gary Heather from Islington and Clare Potter from Hackney. The meeting expressed strong opposition from the wider community in the Finsbury Park area at the loss again of half their park for another 6 weeks of the summer possibly for five years!
Please sign our petition again to say NO - enough is enough!
And ask your friends and neighbours to sign. Unfortunately, you cannot resign it so please ask others to.
250,000 people came last year and the park was a stony desert afterwards. They start this year on 30th June.
We need you more than ever, to say No! No! No!
News from across London
We are not alone in our battle to stop the takeover of our parks by festivals. Friends of Clapham Common is now having a planning inquiry into the use of the Common by Festival Republic for five years too with 40,000 people coming each day.
