The world mourned, but his spirit was not buried—it merely took root.

Today, Captain Ibrahim Traoré carries that same torch with unflinching resolve. His leadership has rekindled a revolutionary consciousness that Africa has not felt in decades. On 17 May 2025, Burkina Faso unveiled a towering bronze statue of Thomas Sankara in Ouagadougou, attended by President Traoré, Sankara’s family, and thousands of citizens. The statue stands as both a tribute and a warning—an eternal reminder that Africa does not forget its heroes, nor forgive its betrayers.
Where traitors sought to erase his image, the people carved it into stone.
