There is now a lease on land connected to a Biological Conservation area off of Commerce Ct. in Murrieta CA, and we must stop any development in the area. This conservation area is not only home to much of our native wildlife, but is an open space area that cannot afford the noise, air, and water pollution that will inevitably come with this business park and have a detrimental impact on this ecosystem. The area is also a place where people can visit and educate themselves on the importance of the preservation of native ecosystems as well as the psychological benefits of having a connection with nature. This kind of commercial development will ultimately cut that all off, including the migration routes and reproductive environments of the mammals, birds, and amphibians I and many others have witnessed and documented all over the area chosen for development as well as the endangered plant species, California Orcutt Grass that covers the area and Many-stemmed Dudleya. I have personally seen and found evidence of mountain lions, coyotes, kestrels, jays, gnatcatchers, flycatchers, bats, frogs, and so many other species in this small grassland area near the conservation area where they plan to erect this business park including California Species of Special Concern, Yellow Warbler. This place is also very important for the free ecosystem services it provides such as groundwater recharge and water filtration. As a person who has loved and explored this area for many years, it pains me to see that it is now up for sale and we must preserve it for the multiple benefits it has to our community. I have personally spoken with and seen many of those who visit it and they all cherish the resources it provides both ecologically and mentally. Please aid in keeping this open space pristine by urging our community planners to develop further up Winchester Rd where there are commercial undeveloped spaces already sheet-graded for this type of business park. Open spaces are becoming much more scarce in our towns and we do not need more commercial development in such an ecologically sensitive area. We need the powerful voices of our community members and those of you who are passionate about conservation and preservation to aid in this cause.
