CRASH – Silver Jaguar hits Arriva Bus at speed on Moorfield Road
The collision happened on Moorfield Road, near the railway bridge close to the junction with School Way in Widnes around 3.00pm yesterday, Monday October 11th. The vehicle, reported by witnesses to be travelling at speed, crashed into the front of the single deck Arriva Number 7 bus on the wrong side of the road.The bus, which was luckily believed not to be carrying any passengers at the time, collided with the silver jaguar on the northbound side of Moorfield road.
This accident could have been more serious if the driver had lost control of his car and if the timing of the crash was only 15 minutes later when parents and school children were leaving Moorfield Primary School. This section of the road is well known to local residents for excessive speeding, who see speeding and dangerous driving taking place every day by the Railway Bridge.
The road was closed for an hour whilst paramedics treated the drivers and the driver of the silver Jaguar was taken to hospital and is now assisting officers with their inquiries.
