I am a resident of the community adjacent to the property under consideration for zoning change in Request MA2024-01. This proposed change threatens not only our peaceful way of life, but also the rich biodiversity that thrives here. The wildlife that we have coexisted with for years stands at risk of displacement and destruction due to this proposed development. There is an endangered species conservation occurring in the adjacent property . The South Carolina Heritage Horse, The Marsh Tacky is on the verge of extinction and the South Carolina horse community is involved in an extensive effort to bring them back, the construction would greatly impede this effort being held on the adjacent property , there are currently less than 400 Carolina Marsh Tacky's existing today. 

Moreover, such a drastic alteration will inevitably lead to a decrease in our property values. We've worked hard to build our homes here and it's unjust that our investments should suffer because of an ill-conceived plan.

Furthermore, Ravenel's infrastructure is simply not equipped to handle such a large-scale development. Our roads, public services, and utilities are designed for a small community like ours - they cannot sustain the strain this project would impose.

According to data from South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), traffic congestion has already been increasing steadily over recent years in Ravenel. Introducing more residents without upgrading infrastructure can exacerbate this issue further.

We must protect what makes Ravenel unique - its tranquility, its wildlife, and its strong sense of community.
