We are now able to formally declare victory and confirm you have helped Save our Sports at Yeovil Recreation Centre.
Earlier this week, both Somerset Council and Yeovil Town Council voted through the historic devolution agreement meaning that from 1st August, the Recreation Centre will be owned and operated by the Town Council for the people of Yeovil.
Thank you to all who supported our campaign to save athletics and hockey in Yeovil and South Somerset for current users and future generations.
We are excited to start a new chapter, working in partnership with the Town Council, to ensure the Rec continues to offer all the opportunity to compete, as well as to access firstclass outdoor leisure facilities, for physical and mental wellbeing.
Our story recently caught the attention of TeamGB and ParalympicGB sponsors British Gas, who have invested in the facility to complete a make-over and help improve the athletics clubhouse to make it more efficient and reduce running costs.
