Dear North Hi Mount, South Hi Mount and Stripling families,
We understand the concerns that have been raised regarding the potential closure of schools in FWISD, and we appreciate the collaboration over the past 10 days. The anxiety caused by the roll out of their Facilities Master Plan has impacted us all.
We would like to inform you that, as of this past Wednesday evening at the Neighborhood Meeting hosted at Arlington Heights United Methodist Church, we were officially notified that South Hi Mount and Stripling will not be closing. We are so proud that our efforts as a team made this happen!!! As a result, we have decided to shift our focus and consolidate our efforts in support of North Hi Mount going forward. Our goal is to concentrate on saving North Hi Mount and ensuring its continued success in our community.
We appreciate your continued support as we move forward with this new direction. Together, we can work towards a positive future for our children.
*Please note, we will not speak negatively about South Hi Mount as it’s an outstanding and historic school with an extremely engaged PTA and wonderful teachers and staff. We ask for the same respect. FWISD used flawed and incomplete data in the task force. As no decision has been made on the future of North Hi Mount yet, we will be focusing our campaign on providing both PASSION and SOLUTIONS on keeping both campuses independent.
As a whole, we all need to ALL do our part to support Public Education at the State Level as funding is the core of this issue. We urge you to call and email your representative to vote “No” to HB3.
Sincerely,
Your Core Group
