The Issue

As a full-time caregiver for my wife, I fear for the future should the looming benefit cuts become reality. If implemented, we, among many others in the UK, would have to grapple daily with struggling finance, relying on food banks, and overall difficulty in affording the basic necessities of life. These potential cuts are not just affecting us, but they're also disproportionately targeting the disabled and the severely ill, the people who need these benefits the most.

According to a report by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, nearly 14 million people, which includes 4.5 million children, are living in poverty in the UK. If the government is allowed to proceed with the planned cuts to the benefit system, this number could drastically increase. It's an alarming statistic; and it's unthinkable that in a developed nation like ours, this could be a harsh reality for many.

Therefore, we call upon the Government to reconsider their planned changes to the benefits system. We understand that there are budgets to be balanced, but it cannot and should not be at the cost of plunging the most vulnerable among us into severe financial hardship. Sign this petition to let your voice be heard, so together, we can stop this injustice in its tracks and protect those most in need.
