Apr 3, 2023

Kate and Steve raised in a previous interview their concerns regarding the toxicity effects of the Bayvarol strips which the Department of Primary Industries placed in their hives. The DPI stated previously that they could send their wax to Germany at $400 per test to check if the honey/ wax was safe for human consumption. However, due to Kate and Steve's perseverance the DPI has now stated that their honey and wax can be tested in Wagga Wagga. Additionally, we discuss a letter Community Voice Australia- Central Coast has received from Chris Locke, the Chair of the National Management Group and the Deputy Secretary Dept of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry This letter states that there are no plans to change the emergency order to a plan of management. And that there is no indication of halting the current Varroa mite measures, including the use of Fipronil poisoning.
