Halt the Nationwide Prohibition on Tobacco Products for Individuals Born after 2009

The Issue

I have always found a unique sense of calm and community in the simple act of enjoying a premium cigar. As an avid cigar enthusiast, I have shared some of my most memorable moments with loved ones over a decent cigar, be it celebrating important achievements or rekindling relationships after long periods of absence. It's not just about indulging a pastime; it's a truly personal experience full of connection, relaxation, and celebration.

However, a proposed ban threatens this cherished aspect of my life and the lives of many others. Those pushing for a nationwide ban on tobacco products for individuals born after 2009 are encroaching upon the fundamental freedoms to choose and appreciate life's personal joys.

Tobacco, specifically cigars, has a rich history and is an essential element in various cultures across the globe. According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the majority of tobacco users are indeed adults. In fact, 85.9% of cigar smokers are adults aged 35 years and above (CDC, 2015).

A complete prohibition spanning the entire nation diminishes our liberty to make responsible and informed decisions, replacing it with an overreaching approach to governance. Instead of absolute prohibition, there should be amendments and regulations that respect the rights of adults while still protecting the health and safety of our children.

We implore the relevant authorities to reconsider this ban, taking into account the timeless culture surrounding tobacco usage and the fundamental rights of the individuals involved. Give voice to our collective concern and commitment to freedom of choice. Please sign this petition and help save our liberty to make personal decisions without unnecessary interferences.
