Halt the Killing of Leopards in Udaipur

Halt the Killing of Leopards in Udaipur
The Issue
In India, I've intimately witnessed the beautiful coexistence of humans and wildlife. However, this harmony is under threat with the expanding human population and shrinking animal habitats. The growing encounters between humans and animals, particularly leopards, have begun to paint these majestic creatures as threats, rather than the endangered species they truly are.
In the last few years in Udaipur, the numbers of leopards have plummeted alarmingly due to unchecked killings. Leopards are a vital part of our ecosystem and their loss creates an imbalance that’s hard to restore. According to the World Wildlife Fund, between 2002 to 2014, India's leopard population decreased by at least 80%. We cannot allow this trend to continue, pushing these magnificent creatures to the brink of extinction.
We must address this issue promptly and implement strategies to protect our nation's leopards. It is time to update our policies regarding human-wildlife cohabitation and educate our communities about the crucial role leopards play in maintaining the ecological balance. Our focus should be on identifying sustainable solutions that benefit both wildlife and humans.
Sign this petition to urge the Udaipur authorities to put an immediate halt to the killing of leopards and take decisive steps towards their protection and conservation. By signing, you become a voice in the fight to protect leopards and create a safer, balanced ecosystem in Udaipur. Your support can make a world of difference to these endangered animals.
