Updates.

Thank you to all who came yesterday. It sends a great message when people keep showing up for Cosmeston. And it means the world to our Save Cosmeston and the Vale team. 

We are now nearly half way through the trial period. As we've said before, it has been devastating to see the damage being done by the development on our beloved lakes. And we wish we could have  stopped the pilot altogether. But it was an uneven battle from the start: despite your strong voices and presence at protests, hundreds of emails, hours of research, having support from opposition voices from all spheres, and more… the people in power have decided to push on regardless.

However! We have made some great progress and we will continue to do so, for as long as it is necessary. 

Firstly we are pleased to announce legal action has been taken. We expect a response from the Council no later than the 8th of August and will keep updating you as we go along. Bear with us. First time campaigners here!

Secondly, our information gathering is paying off. And we have been able to start building a strong evidence based folder as to why the pilot is unsuccessful, damaging and lacking. This "folder" is paramount to our success. We do not know, despite our efforts to try to find out, what would be the used to measure an "unsuccessful" pilot. But we are striving to accumulate as much evidence as we can, in the hope it will be taken into account when the pilot is assessed, in the autumn. 
On this note we need your help to continue to collect and report all evidence. (See flyer)

Furthermore we are keeping a close eye on Aqua Park's operations to ensure all breaches, issues and concerns are picked up on, and reported to the appropriate authorities, as it's evident that, despite the assurances of the Council, the pilot is not being monitored/supervised to an appropriate level. And we also need your help with this! If you see or hear anything, please take action. (Again refer to flyer)

And lastly, our endless research and actions can not continue without YOUR financial support. We would kindly ask for donations to our crowdfunding as we need funds to continue this 'fight'. 
We are hopeful we will be able to proceed with our actions and we will put all our efforts into two fun and exciting fundraising events to help boost the funds. Watch this space.
