It is wonderful to see the support of so many people for our community. We had a little win - Ozy Homes has agreed to a two-week suspension of work on the site. There are negotiations taking place between the council and state government now to find an alternative site for similar developments. The future of our forests and its wildlife now rests with the state government, specifically Planning Minister Rob Stokes and Environment and Energy Minister Matt Kean.

I am so proud of my fellow community members for leaving everything aside to stand up for the environment, for the many species that are facing the threat of extinction. I am thankful to our local leaders for stepping up and advocating for us. I’m glad that Ozy Homes recognises the environmental impact the development will have on our forests and wildlife that suffered immensely during the bushfires, and is open for negotiations.

Now, our community is urging the state government to find suitable alternatives to prevent clearing of the Manyana site.
