At the first meeting of the new City Commission Cynthia Chestnut made the motion to rescind the ordinance to end single family zoning . New commissioner Ed Book and returning commissioners Desmon Duncan-Walker and Harvey Ward (now mayor) also voted to rescind creating a narrow majority of four that will move the process forward. Returning commissioner Reina Saco and two of the three new members, Bryan Eastman and Casey Willits, joined forces in an attempt to keep the ordinance in place. Please take the time to thank Ward, Chestnut, Desmon-Walker and Book for voting to rescind the ordinance that we fought so hard to prevent by email and any other avenue that you can think of. Saco and Willits said that they received 24 emails supporting them in their fight to stifle the other four as if it were a mandate of some kind. Let's all fill their inboxes with letters to the contrary to remind them (and Eastman) of our numbers and resolve. The fight is not over. Please pitch in!       Thank you.
