Though the 4 commissioners voted in favor of ending single family neighborhoods in Gainesville the upcoming election offers the opportunity to elect people who will vote to rescind the measure. We need 2 of the 4 new commissioners to vote to rescind. Casey Willits, Bryan Eastman and Harvey Ward have been closely associated with the outgoing authors of the proposal and consequently can’t be counted on to vote to rescind. Given that Eastman is already voted in it means that Willits or Ward MUST be defeated. Given that most of us cannot even vote against Willits it means that our best chance to rescind the measure is to ELECT ED BIELARSKI MAYOR!!
