Our petition to stop this attack on our neighborhoods now has over 2,100 signatures (and growing by the minute) because of you! Pat yourselves on the back!      

The vote to eliminate single family zoning throughout the entire city has just been made worse while the commissioners were on vacation. Since the so-called workshop on June 21st, without notice, they have increased units per acre from 8 to 12 and decreased minimum lot width for multi-family buildings from 70 feet to 35 feet (“Hayes Santos exclusionary zoning handout updated" #211346). They did however lower the height limit from 3 stories to 2 (I believe due to pressure from our petition, emails  and social media posts). Ironically this move is the implementing of a new Exclusionary Zoning rule while at the same time they are railing against Exclusionary Zoning!

Commissioners David Arreola and Reina Saco have the power to stop this. We need one of them to flip their allegiance from Poe and Santos to the citizens of Gainesville. Please direct phone calls and emails appealing to them to make the right choice! Their contact info is easy to obtain on the City’s website; gainesvillefl.gov/City-Commission
