The Issue

As residents impacted directly by the prospect of a ready mix concrete plant in our locale, we are deeply concerned about the degradation of our living conditions. This issue resonates personally with us due to its probable effects on our air quality, traffic flow, noise levels, and extreme dust generation.

Concrete production contributes significantly to air pollution, with every ton of cement produced responsible for approximately one ton of CO2 emissions, a prevalent greenhouse gas (source: Environmental Impact Assessment Reports). This proposed plant will invariably exacerbate our community's carbon footprint and adversely affect our air quality.

Furthermore, the introduction of this plant would increase traffic flow in our area due to the additional heavy vehicles involved in concrete transport. These vehicles not only contribute to noise pollution but also increase the amount of dust in our environment, further impairing air quality and causing potential health problems, as reported by the World Health Organization.

Our collective health, peace, and shared environment stand threatened by this proposed project. We respect and understand the need for development, but it should not be at the cost of deteriorating our quality of life. Therefore, we ask that the construction of this ready mix concrete plant be halted in consideration of its far-reaching negative impacts. Please add your voice to our cause by signing this petition.
