I am a resident of Brevard, North Carolina. This small town charm is what makes our community special and unique. However, recent developments threaten to change this. The construction of roundabouts is not only altering the landscape but also attracting more tourists which could potentially disrupt our peaceful way of life.

Roundabouts are often used as traffic calming measures and to improve road safety. However, they can also lead to increased traffic and congestion, particularly in areas that are popular with tourists. In 2017 alone, there were over 9 million visits to North Carolina's state parks (source: North Carolina State Parks Annual Report). While tourism can bring economic benefits, it can also put pressure on local resources and infrastructure.

We believe that preserving the character of our town should be a priority over making it more appealing for tourists. We urge the local government to reconsider their plans for constructing roundabouts in Brevard.
