Its grandeur and rich history add not only value but a distinct character to our town. It now faces a potential eyesore, a looming pedestrian bridge that threatens to mar its breathtaking views. Estimates suggest the proposed bridge construction's costs will run high, diverted from taxpayer money when it could be put to better use elsewhere in our community.

My plea doesn't merely stem from an aesthetic viewpoint. Evidence points to the fact that cities worldwide have regretted similar infrastructural decisions in the past.
