Halt the Construction of a Mobile Phone Mast on Beacon Fell AONB

The Issue

We are local residents who cherish the beauty and tranquility of Beacon Fell. This area, recognized as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), has been a source of joy for us and many visitors to the national park.

However, a large mobile phone mast is proposed to be built here by Cornerstone on behalf of Vodafone which threatens to mar this natural landscape.

The construction will not only disrupt the aesthetic appeal but also potentially harm local wildlife habitats. According to Natural England, any development within AONBs should aim to conserve and enhance their natural beauty. The erection of such an intrusive structure clearly contradicts this principle.

The application also relies upon a diesel generator running which is a noise and fire risk to the area

It’s also worth noting, this is not an ordinary phone mast. It’s 40m (130ft) tall,  making it over 4x higher than a regular mast, making it visible for miles around.

We urge you to consider these implications seriously before allowing such development in our beloved Beacon Fell. Let's protect our natural heritage for future generations instead of turning it into an industrial eyesore.

Please sign this petition if you stand with us in preserving the beauty and integrity of Beacon Fell.

Please note, for maximum impact we advise also submitting a complaint about the planning application directly to Preston council. The feedback form is currently broken so you can send an email to devcon@preston.gov.uk quoting the reference below
