At the last trustee meeting, the Board voted to table a vote on the moratorium. No explanation given. The proposed moratorium didn't even include E1 zones like the lot of the proposed 49-unit apartment complex by Red Rock Homes. They are IGNORING residents.

What DID they pass at that meeting? Rather than taking action on the promised building moratorium or discussing responsible development for the future well-being of the town, they decided we're talking too much. We're asking too many questions. We're trying to hold them accountable. They voted to limit our ability to speak at meetings.

From the minutes:

"Resolution #50-2025:
A Resolution authorizing the following procedures for Public Comment at all Village Hall
meetings and forums: Speakers will need to sign in on provided sign-in sheet, When called upon
to speak, please step to the podium and state your name, Speakers will be allotted a one-time 3-
minute time limit, Time allotment cannot be transferred, Board of Trustee members may
interrupt a speaker, with the permission of the Mayor, for purposes of clarification or
information, All remarks are to be addressed to the Board of Trustees as a body and not to any
member individually, The Mayor may interrupt or terminate an individual’s time allotment when
it is too lengthy, personally directed, abusive, obscene or irrelevant, Complaints regarding
Village employees will not be heard. Such complaints must be presented to the Board of Trustees
in writing and signed by the complainant. An executive session will be granted for the hearing of
complaints against any employee.
Trustee Stone - Aye; Trustee Ildefonso – Aye; Trustee Shahipour – Aye; Deputy Mayor Farina -
Aye; Mayor Popeleski- Aye."

What can you do?

Go to the meeting tonight! July 30th at 6.30pm at the Port Washington Senior Citizen Center, 80 Manorhaven Boulevard.
Demand to be heard! Hold them accountable!

We need a full moratorium on development until Manorhaven has a comprehensive plan in place. STOP ALL VARIANCES. The BZA is handing out variances like party favors to developers. There is no hardship here, nor extenuating circumstances. The developers want the maximum profit possible without regard for the community and the BZA grants it! The Board claims they have no power to stop it. THIS IS NOT TRUE!

Over-development will change this town forever. Infrastructure, school crowding, pollution, traffic. Stop it now!!
