The Issue

As a resident of Lake County, I am extremely angered about the impact that the new T5@Chicago IV data center will have on our beloved community. This construction project threatens to irrevocably damage our local environment, which includes cherished protected forests and wildlife preserves.

Lake County has long stood as a steward of these lands, working tirelessly to preserve and maintain the delicate balance of our local ecosystem. However, the looming construction of this massive data center puts all of that in jeopardy.

The increased pollution, excessive energy consumption, and strain on local resources will have disastrous effects on the protected areas of our beautiful land. Data centers are already known for their high energy usage, the potential carbon footprint is alarming. Moreover, the increased infrastructure and traffic could disturb local wildlife and degrade the quality of life for all residents.

The health of our community and the preservation of our natural resources should always take precedence over corporate interests. By halting the construction of the T5@Chicago IV data center, we are advocating for a sustainable future for Lake County.

I urge local authorities including the Lake County Forest Preserve, environmental agencies, and decision-makers to listen and preserve the natural legacy of Lake County by signing this petition to halt the construction of the T5@Chicago IV data center.
