I moved into Manchester Park, Elkton, Maryland because I sought a quiet and safe neighborhood where unity among neighbors was the norm. My backyard has been my haven; watching the sunset from there is an integral part of my life. However, this peace is under threat due to proposed construction plans for Manchester Meadows.

In 2022, a letter regarding these plans was supposedly sent out to all surrounding neighbors. However, many of us never received this letter - it seems that most of them ended up returned and sitting on the PLA developers' desk. This lack of communication raises serious concerns about transparency and respect for community input.

Furthermore, we have grave concerns about the potential impacts of this construction project on our community and environment. These include increased traffic congestion; overcrowding in local schools; reduced police presence leading to safety issues; fire safety hazards due to inadequate planning; endangerment of local wildlife habitats; easements on our properties causing degradation in our neighborhood's quality.

Our yards already suffer from flooding issues - further disruption could exacerbate these problems and cause more damage not only to our homes but also to the earth itself.

We urge those responsible for approving these plans to consider their impact carefully before proceeding further with any construction activities at Manchester Meadows. We call upon them not just as concerned citizens but as people whose lives will be directly affected by these decisions.
