ECV activists and organizers have set a meeting with Assemblymember Muratsuchi this Friday who has asked for the petition.  Let's help get it to 1000+ signatures before Friday!  We need to let him know that we, the local community, are not okay with this development- not because we are against affordable housing (who the hell would be with the state of housing in CA right now??).  The corner of Crenshaw and Marine is zoned for 36, YES THRITY-SIX UNITS, and due to state ordinance and incentives coupled with no local city oversight to protect against predatory "relaxed" standards for development in unincorporated areas like ECV, there is no one who will stop this development of 700+ units on one block.  

Why are the cities of Gardena, El Camino Village, Lawndale, Hawthorne, North Torrance being subjected to this treatment?  Because we are working class neighborhoods and Julio Vargas isn't afraid of us.  He knows he has a legal loophole on his side.
