Contractual promises were made in 1996 to the residents of Timberlea-Prospect to not allow raw organics into the facility without processing. We cannot allow current HRM Council to break faith with our community and focus solely on reducing operating expenses. It was the community who decided on these protections, and it was Council who approved the site based on this community strategy. We must ensure that our environment and the way-of-life of our many citizens is protected.
