Thank you so much to everyone who has signed the petition since the news broke that HPL has chosen not to remove the book from their circulation.

It means a lot to me that so many of you are engaging in this discourse.

I just held an interview with someone from CBC in regards to Pride Halifax's statement that they will be cutting ties with the library until policy changes are made to prevent books like Shriers from entering circulation in the future.

The library administration has chosen to uphold a book that misrepresents academic research to promote hate. And because of that, they are now facing consequences.

I hope that the library administration reflects on the role they have played in empowering hate and work to make the changes needed to prevent hate and misinformation from being uplifted within the library system in the future.

we're working on ways to keep pushing against this misinformation in the library. stay tuned for that.
