We, residents of Halifax and Atlantic Canada, respectfully request the introduction of a nonstop flight between Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) and Istanbul Airport (IST).

Currently, there is no direct service between Halifax and Istanbul. Travelers must connect through other hubs, increasing travel time, cost, and the risk of missed connections. A nonstop route would significantly improve accessibility, convenience, and global connectivity for our region.

Strong demand exists due to:

• The growing Turkish and international community in Atlantic Canada

• International student and academic travel

• Business, tourism, and visiting-friends-and-relatives (VFR) demand

• Halifax’s strategic position for transatlantic operations

• Istanbul’s extensive global hub network

We respectfully call on

Turkish Airlines,Halifax Stanfield International Airport and Transport Canada Civil Aviation to evaluate the feasibility of enabling this route, including the allocation of necessary traffic rights and operational approvals.

We have already gathered strong community support and remain fully committed to demonstrating sustained and measurable demand.
