Last night at the Community Board meeting, we received *confirmation* from the Department of Traffic that a stop sign and two painted crosswalks would be installed at the corner of Washington Park and Willoughby "sometime this summer." I am beyond thrilled and delighted. We even managed to convince the board members and the reps from the DOT to remove the corner parking spot and eliminate the blind turn. Bonus!!! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who supported this effort and left comments. They only gave members of the public 3 short minutes to speak, but I managed to read aloud many of the comments made on this petition, and especially those that mentioned the blind turn in particular. Your voices undoubtedly made an impact on the vote. We'll be back out with cookies, iced tea, and dog treats the first weekend after the stop sign is installed, and hope to celebrate with as many of you as possible. Act local! Best, Carla
