We’re thrilled to announce something huge for India's elephants: the opening of the Wildlife SOS Elephant Hospital — the first facility of its kind in the country! Our supporters helped us build and outfit this state-of-the-art facility to treat injured, abused, and elderly elephants. At 12,000-square feet, the hospital is massive, and it's stocked with full wireless X-ray capability, thermal imaging and ultrasonography labs, hydrotherapy ponds, quarantine facilities, and so on. The hospital was designed for overnight monitoring via an infrared closed-circuit TV system, and it's also equipped with a medical hoist to comfortably lift and move elephants who need specialized intensive care.

Elephant care is clearly our main priority, but we also designed this facility to double as a training center for veterinarians and elephant caretakers to learn about modern elephant medical treatment as well as humane elephant management and compassionate care. For this reason, we built in an observation deck where students, interns, and caretakers can observe everything from a great vantage point.

Please consider helping us out with important projects like this for India’s elephants.

Today is Giving Tuesday, and there is no better day to jump in and support these amazing creatures! Please donate directly to our elephant fund at the link below:
