Keep Family Disputes Out Of Probate Court

I stand by this message!!!! Ray Price's widow, Janie Price from Texas who was sinking in Probate quick sand due to a family dispute that put her entire estate into a receivership after an adult step-son initiated a guardianship over Ray Price just weeks before his passing. At the onset of my journey in this advocacy from 2011, I saw conservatorship/guardianship from one side, the adult child side, and my side, until I was exposed to countless cases, recognizing that the actual individual exposed to isolation and elder abuse results from family disputes, pure greed and monetary gain initiated sometimes by adult children, the spouse, the mechanic, a neighbor, etc., in a very flawed court system. There are two sides to every story/case and both sides deserve an equal and fair opportunity to be heard; however, truth and justice are seen in the evidence, not the media or often times not even with the judge's decision/ruling. I have witnessed this from all sides. I advocate to keep family disputes out of Probate court; I advocate for legislation that focuses on the wards' best interest; I advocate for legislation that does NOT initiate, instigate, or perpetuate more unwanted and unnecessary guardianship cases; I advocate for the elderly and disabled population whose voices remain unheard; I advocate for legislation that only pertains to isolation within guardianship to avoid any language that lines the pockets of the probate system; I advocate for appropriate criminal statutes criminalizing isolation; I advocate for power of attorney legislation that strengthens PoA rights absent the initiation of more restrictive means upon our incapacitated loved ones, and I advocate for staying out of Probate court as long as humanly possible exercising all other means and measures for reconciliation and closure.
