We are preparing for fresh attacks on the Triple Lock in the autumn. Neither the Government or the Labour Opposition have committed to the Triple Lock following the General Election. And there  have been a spate of statements from think tanks and individual politicians claiming that the Lock is unsustainable. 

These well-heeled critics need to recognise that the basic old state pension, which most older people receive, still stands at only £156-20 per week. Let these critics try and live on that! Silver Voices views the Triple Lock as a symbol of how UK Society respects older people. Is Society prepared to protect those who have made a lifetime of contributions to the country, from economic ups and downs, or not?
