Decision stands - Land to be sold - Petition lost

Today we have discovered that the same Bolsover District Council Officer Grant Galloway, Director of Development has stuck with his original decision to sell this piece of land.  From the new statement the fact that he asked the developer to consider an alternative access indicates he acknowledges that using Park Ave as access is an issue but still allows the decision to sell the land so access is via Park Ave for the approved planning of 62 houses. This has also made after the land now is an ‘Asset of Community value’.

This whole affair from the planning meeting to today highlights the greed within Bolsover District Council. These are the members of planning at BDC who voted for a planning application with no access.

If they represent your local ward remember this when at the next local elections, they voted for a planning application for material gains? ? Opening statement from planning minutes “Councillor Duncan McGregor outlined the reasons that he supported the approval of the application. Although it was recognised that the proposal was contrary to Saved Policies ENV3 and HOU9 of the adopted Local Plan, and Policies SS3 and SS9 of the emerging Local Plan and paragraph 79 of the Framework insofar as this site was outside the settlement framework/development envelope, material considerations outweighed this position.

With no consideration of over 60 objections and their own planning officers recommendation to decline it.  The application is against the local plan and Glapwell cannot sustain such an increase in its population on top of 65 already approved within yards of this by the same applicant ! If you live in Bolsover please write to our MP.  He personally visited the site on yesterday, Thursday 20th and understands why we are fighting to stop this.
