Update 2

Housing has been made aware of the petition and have sent the following correspondence on November 19th (Email below). However, there are no plans to provide any discounts or refunds due to the inconveniences this entire ordeal has caused. The email has also failed to address the work orders that students have filed, and maintenance personal haven't followed up on. It is also crucial that you share this petition since surprisingly not everyone housed at Anthony Wayne Drive is even aware of this petition's existence. I have offered to send the list of signatures to the Michigan Department if Civil Rights, and have emailed the following news outlets(Listed Below).
 
We have a voice. I know your all tired of waiting so long on a single elevator to get to class, having buttons on your microwave not work, having issues with your hot water not coming out hot and being told to "be patient" or not have anyone follow up on your concerns. Unfortunately this petition can't be open forever. In order to obtain the necessary documents Change.org has to close the petition and prevent it from having more signatures. The petition will be closed on December 13th.

Dear Anthony Wayne Drive residents, 
 
I’m writing to acknowledge continuing issues with the dependability of elevator operations in your building. As one of our newest campus housing facilities, AWD has so many wonderful attributes to provide a superior housing experience for our residents, and these continuing elevator issues are clearly interfering with that. It is disappointing to have this problem, and I apologize for it.

As a follow-up to both north elevators going down last weekend with a delayed repair response, several conversations were held this week to address our response protocols and to initiate a “top to bottom” review of all four AWD elevators. The goal of this project is to find and fix all issues causing these elevators to be out of service more than would be expected of elevators of this age and use. WSU’s associate vice president for facilities and the director of capital planning for our housing partner Corvias will lead this project in conjunction with our elevator maintenance company. We expect quick action to analyze past and current issues and movement toward permanent improvements. This group commits to regular updates to all residents as we move as quickly as possible through this comprehensive review and resolution process
