Dear friends and supporters,
There will be a chance for the public to comment during this Friday’s MLCC phone meeting. From what I’m told, the call starts at 10:30am and typically runs for up to an hour before they open up the floor for public comment.
I am working to get several owners/operators on the call. In an effort to be heard, understood, and taken seriously, I ask that any who would like to be heard prepare a BRIEF statement with key points ahead of time. Nothing contentious—each comment should make a simple plea regarding how your business and the public (think safety) would benefit from being able to sell alcohol to-go.
Please stress the importance of continuing any changes for a period beyond the “re-opening” of the economy because restaurants are going to get to open softly, but “bars” likely will not. Also, soft opening means full bills, but limited people in the seats. Delivery and carry-out limit contact and will be safer for staff and the general public.
If are an owner, operator, employee, or patron of an on-premise licensed establishment in Michigan and would like the number and log-in information, please reach out to me, Robyn Cleveland, via email (below) and I will share the credentials.
