Consumer is been mislead by food  packaging and labelling

Food packaging regulations that control labels need to change to keep consumer safe.

Russian roulette is played every day without consumer been aware.

If there is an ingredient added or taken out from a food product  there should be a change in label.

Companies at this stage still keep the same name and label of product and are free to change ingredients as they please.   More strict regulations should be implemented on this.

Differentiate between same range  or similar products especially if there is an allergen present within the product.

Consumers are given the wrong impression and representation.

An allergen symbol to be implemented on front of food package as a warning.

Just like the symbols of  gluten free, five star rating and Australian made, hallal and heart foundation.

Why do these symbols exist and not an allergen one?

Allergies can be fatal an allergen symbol can help prevent this.

In the last twenty years there has been a rise in people suffering from allergens and food packaging regulations are not keeping up with the reality.

Australia  has one of the highest allergy rates in the world and the problem is growing.

1 in 20  Children suffer from food allergies and 1 in 50 adults.

Prevention is better than cure.

Accidents are waiting to happen without the labelling code been more strict.

I am reaching out to prevent any more deaths ( one death too many) and there has been several. Due to something that should have been changed a long time ago.

Regulations on food packaged labelling needs to change.

We are suppose to protect our children.

Please help make this change.

Thanking you.
