The Government has put the foxes in charge of the hen house. The Commission appointed to review the Freedom of Information Act is full of those antagonistic to accountability and transparency: For example, Jack Straw who vetoed the release of the cabinet minutes covering the Iraq war and called for wider restrictions covering policy development and ministerial communication. It's part of a pattern which includes the lack of transparency around how Local Enterprise Partnerships work.
