The Issue

Green energy should not destroy Green countryside!

Please Sign and share our local community’s petition to stop the proposed Wyseby Hill Solar Farm destroying our local countryside from Eaglesfield to Gretna and the area being turned into an industrialised large scale solar farm.

Solar farms can have significant downsides, including the loss of agricultural land, negative impacts on local wildlife including protected species and disruption to the community's aesthetic and rural character. The large footprint of this proposed solar farm will lead to habitat destruction and displacement of these species. Additionally, the industrial appearance of solar farms often clashes with the natural landscape, potentially lowering property values and diminishing residents' quality of life. These concerns make it crucial to carefully evaluate the placement of solar farms to avoid long-term harm to communities and the environment and the loss of good agricultural land. Whilst we acknowledge the importance of green energy for a sustainable future it should not be at the expense of our beautiful region. There are surely other areas more suited to this.

If this goes ahead there will be no stopping further areas throughout the region and beyond being destroyed in the name of Green energy.
