My friend Victoria Monaghan has recently been told that the WDF (world darts federation) may stop players like herself from playing darts because some players feel that they have an advantage 

Now the UK as well as many other countries have voted for these players to not play in the WDF 

The player’s representative cannot get their own way and doesn’t want to play transgender players. 

We are fighting to allow these players to continue to play in the WDF. If you look at the IOC framework on fairness, inclusion and non discrimination on the basic of gender identity and sex variations. It says in the very beginning in the introduction that “every person has the right to practice sport without discrimination and in a way that respects their health, safety and dignity. At the same time the credibility of competitive sport - and particularly high level organised sporting competitions - relies on a level playing field, where no athlete has an unfair and disproportionate advantage over the rest” - clearly isn’t the case in your eyes as you want to take the sport away from transgender players. Darts is a sport that requires eye co-ordination and memory. It’s not a contact sport! Even in the inclusion of this framework it states “everyone regardless of gender identity, expression and or sex variations should be able to participate in a sport safely and without prejudice” - again why do you want to take the sport away from these transgender players! It’s a non contact sport! 

When you actually look at the averages of these players and the advantage these players have. I’ll give you some examples (all averages found on mastercaller.com)

If you look at Victoria Monaghan who played at the WDF lakeside tournament in 2023 for New Zealand against Suzanne smith, her highest average was 54.71 

Now if you look at Beau Graves who also played at the lakeside tournament in 2023 and went on to win it her highest average is 113.43 

If you also look at Noa Lynn another transgender player her highest average is 100.99 

Rhian O’Sullivan another female player has an average of 100.20 

Deta Hedman another female player has an average of 98.01 

This is just the women players and even if you look at the men’s players their averages are you saying they have an advantage because they are a man 

Scott Mitchell a male player has an average of 111.33

Danny porter a male player has an average of 98.93 

Andy Baetens the current world champion only has an average of 106.92 

These are just a few examples. Now how does this show that a transgender player has an advantage. These transgender players do not play with their genitalia do they. If transgender players can’t play then how come we have mixed pairs and singles where women have to play men. Surely the men would have an advantage well in a mental sport such as darts this can go in anyone’s favour whether female or male

Please sign this petition to keep transgender people in the WDF and allow them to play. Now is the time to raise this petition before it’s too late and people like Victoria have to stop playing a sport they love
