Grant Tibet its Rightful Independence

Grant Tibet its Rightful Independence

The Issue

I am a Tibetan, born and raised in the rich culture that has thrived for centuries. But over the years, our heritage has been systematically dismantled by Chinese authorities. Our monasteries have been destroyed, our language suppressed, and our people persecuted. This is not just about politics; it's about preserving a culture that is on the brink of extinction.

Tibet was invaded by China in 1950 under what they called a "peaceful liberation". Since then, human rights abuses have been rampant with an estimated 1.2 million Tibetans killed as a result of China's occupation (Central Tibetan Administration). The Tibetan language is being replaced with Mandarin in schools and public life - an attempt to erase our identity.

We are not asking for anything more than what we deserve - the right to live freely in our homeland without fear of persecution or cultural genocide. We urge world leaders to recognize Tibet as an independent nation and pressure China into respecting international laws regarding human rights and cultural preservation.

Please sign this petition if you believe in justice for all cultures and peoples worldwide. Your signature can help bring attention to this cause and make a difference in preserving one of the world's oldest cultures from disappearing forever.
