Roma, a recently released Netflix film, has been racking up awards left and right all over the world.

The cast has been to several award shows already, but the biggest is yet to come. The Oscars are being held on Sunday, February 24th, 2019, and the film has 10 nominations.

But one of the actors in the film might not be able to attend. Jorge Antonio Guerrero, the Mexican actor who played Fermín, has applied for a U.S. tourist visa three separate times, and each time has been rejected.

Guerrero already hasn’t been able to attend the Golden Globes or screenings. This is Jorge's last chance to join with his cast mates at an awards ceremony. 

Don’t make Jorge stay home while his hard work is being appreciated. When a film wins, all of the actors are invited on the stage. If Jorge is not given a tourist visa — just so he can celebrate with his cast and crew members — he won’t be able to be on that stage.

Netflix and the film’s producers are banding together to write letters of invitation and support for Guerrero, but it’s time for a wide base of support to come together and get Jorge the visa he needs to celebrate the film’s success. He worked on this movie just like every other cast and crew member — and he deserves to be at the Oscars to celebrate.

After Sunny Pawar was denied a visa to attend the Oscars for the film Lion, the denial was appealed and Sunny was able to attend the event. This has been done before and it can be done again.
