Grant Right of Way for Horse riders to Newton Beach and Merthyr Mawr Beach

Grant Right of Way for Horse riders to Newton Beach and Merthyr Mawr Beach
The Issue
As a passionate equestrian and regular user of Newton beach Porthcawl, I am deeply concerned about the lack of access for horses to Newton beach and the surrounding area. This petition aims to address this issue by urging the relevant authorities to grant horses the right of way in these areas.
Personal Story:
I have been an avid horse rider for many years, finding solace and joy in exploring the beautiful landscapes that surround our community. However, my fellow equestrians and I face significant challenges when it comes to accessing Newton beach due to restrictions on horse riding.
Newton beach is a stunning location that offers a unique experience for riders. The vast expanse of sand combined with breathtaking views creates an ideal environment for recreational riders like myself. Unfortunately, the ever increasing constraints limits our ability to enjoy this natural treasure.
Furthermore, are rich in biodiversity, providing valuable habitats for various species. Allowing responsible horse riding within these areas would not only benefit equestrians but also contribute positively towards preserving this delicate ecosystem through increased vigilance against illegal activities such as fly-tipping or vandalism.
Facts & Statistics:
1. Facts: All access routes to the coastal area were fitted with kissing gates during the 1990's and the last barrier erected was in 2005 from Beach Road and Bryneglwys Avenue leaving the only access to the beach through a privately owned car park. This also provided access to the Welsh Coastal Path.
2. Facts: The privately owned car park has now prohibited horse riders accessing Newton beach. There is now no access to the above, and the Welsh Coastal Path.
3. Health Benefits: Horse riding offers numerous physical and mental health benefits such as improved cardiovascular fitness, enhanced balance and coordination skills, stress reduction.
4. Safety Measures: Implementing designated bridleways can help ensure safety for all users by separating pedestrians from horses while promoting responsible sharing of public spaces and gives a right of way for those that enjoy their down time on horse back.
It is crucial that we address these concerns promptly so that regular users like myself, as well as visitors to our area, can fully enjoy the natural beauty that Newton beach and Merthyr Mawr beach and its surroundings have to offer on horseback. Granting right of way for horses in these areas will not only enhance our community's recreational opportunities but also promote sustainable tourism and preserve our local environment.
I kindly request that the relevant authorities take immediate action to review and amend current regulations, allowing horses access to Newton beach and establishing an open bridleway network within Newton Porthcawl. By signing this petition, we demonstrate our support for this cause and urge decision-makers to prioritize the rights of equestrians in our community.
Together, let us ensure that future generations can continue to appreciate the wonders of Newton beach while fostering a harmonious coexistence between humans, horses, and nature.
Thank you for your attention and support.
