Hi folks, Just a quick update regarding our visit to Parliament on Wednesday 26th October; it is not sufficient to turn up at random and wonder around its hallowed halls; MP Madeleine Moon was the first to respond and agree to meet with us and thankfully we now have justification for our visit. Our itinerary is slowly evolving and this is what it looks like to date: 10am gather in Westminster Hall 11am our meeting with Mrs Moon will take place in the Central Lobby. MPs Tim Farron and Liz Saville-Roberts have agreed to meetings - the times of which have still to be arranged. Tim Farron has secured 2 tickets for PMQs for his constituent Jan Murray. 12.30pm Hand out lapel badges to MPs as they leave PMQs. 2.30pm meeting with MP David Winnick in the Central Lobby. We are awaiting replies from a number of MPs still to confirm their attendance or decline our invitation. PFEW have agreed to pay for a banner for use in group photographs and supporter Dave Conroy has offered to fund the purchase of the lapel pins that we intend to hand out to MPs. The pins will be based upon Brenda Neary’s design of a chequered bow with a red rose at its centre. Getting them produced is not proving easy but I am working on it. NARPO CEO Steve Edwards will also be joining us on the day. Some MPs are happy to meet with us despite not having their constituent present – if you cannot be with us on the 26th please do contact your MP and invite them to attend. We have supporters whose MPs are not able to meet with them so we have people available despite your absence. Police Crime Commissioners, Chief Constables etc. are also very welcome to join us should they be willing. I have been informed that some supporters are no longer receiving updates regarding our campaign and others are receiving emails with my name on them and having nothing what-so-ever to do with this campaign. I have been in touch with Change.org and they are endeavouring to solve the problems. My profound apologies for any irritation or inconvenience that this may have caused, unfortunately this is beyond my direct control. We have to hope that the overall success of the campaign has not been affected detrimentally as a result. Our visits to Parliament have attracted widespread media attention in the past and hopefully this occasion will be no exception. Julie Butterworth’s articles are beginning to appear in Police Federation magazines – follow this link and have a look at page 11 it is my open letter to the Prime Minister: http://www.westmidspolfed.com/media/downloads/wmpf-federation-aug-sept2016-final-v3.pdf More articles are to follow including individual personal accounts and you will be relieved to hear that they are not all about me! Anyone wishing to contact me regarding our campaign can do so at the usual email address: CathrynHall@outlook.com Enjoy what remains of your weekend. Cathryn
