I am an Ethiopian child myself living in America and as ashamed I am to say it, I can't even speak my own language. I grew up in America so I can't teach myself the language very easily, although most children are usually able to speak in their own native language, and it's embarrassing to admit that I'm one of the kids that doesn't speak her own language. Can you believe that languages like Klingon, from some TV show Star Trek, are taught on Duolingo, given more representation than countries of Africa? It's so unfair. People who grew up in different areas will be able to learn their own language and not be embarrassed being the only one in the room who needs a translator. I can't even utter a sentence without pulling up Google Translate, which is inaccurate most of the time so it doesn't even work. I beg, instead of asking for useless things like Klingon and fake languages, we need more diversity so kids like me aren't missing out on their parents native tongue.

If this is no longer overlooked, imagine all the money Duolingo would make. They would go more global and get more visitors and views from families and people looking for hobbies, and people who are traveling. Please act now, and help me get the app Duolingo to listen and add the language of Ethiopia, Amharic, so us uneducated children can teach ourselves. Please, I do not want to be embarrassed for not being educated about my own home land.
